About

Uncle Nicky Records was founded in the spring of 2009 to release UNR-01, the Mason Porter-Chris Kasper split (a/k/a “The Wedding Record”).

We will re-write this page soon. And some of the topics that will be discussed include:

The label is named after our Uncle Nicky Buono who passed away in the late winter of 2009. We love him and miss him very much. He taught us a lot about music, popular culture, and other important stuff.

We are located in Philadelphia, PA, USA. We don’t have a PO Box yet, but were getting one soon. If you want to mail us something, we would probably give you an address if you emailed us first at mail@unclenickyrecords.com.

We are trying to release two objects a year with occasional limited run, handmade things from time to time like CDRs with invovled-packaging or music on unconventional media.

We are essentially a non-profit record label with the intention of putting all earnings back into the label in order to fund a next project. We make nothing right now. Hopefully we can reach a level of self-sustinence. Can you help?

We probably will not release your record, if that’s how you found yourself here, but Cornslaw Industries probably will. It costs Uncle Nicky Records a bit of coin to release a record, but Cornslaw does it at virtually no cost. Neither will make you money.

We would like to send out bulk items to stores and other merchants, especially across the sea, and would entertain all offers for trade and deals.

Uncle Nicky Records is owned and controlled by Cornslaw Industries, a net.label and cultural archive with over 70 releases available for free download. The intention of Cornslaw Industries is to make available music that may not otherwise get heard. All music on Cornslaw.net is free. The intention of Uncle Nicky Records is to be a self-sustaining entity with the ability to fund a next project for the label, while also able to offset the (albeit low) overheard to run Cornslaw Industries. Any and all money earned from the sale of items through Uncle Nicky Records will be used to sustain the two entities. We also share it with the artists, we’re not assholes. Uncle Nicky Records employs the method of label management coined by Factory Records in the 1980s.

Thanks for coming by.
